Description
Original era manufacture. A very sound example, polished steel finished blade, with an turned oak grip. Leather covered, metal bodied scabbard with a large carrying ring on the reverse. The blade shows a steel patina finish, with original polished surface visible, but no pitting, and the blade retains it's proper contour. The turned oak grip is sound, no issues and has a stamped US just above the ferrule. No cracks, or damage to the ribbing, just a few small bumps in the surface. Steel bodied, leather covered scabbard with a brass reinforced throat. The leather is darkened from age but quite sound, stitching is tight with the exception of a spot on the tip which shows some wear. White paint collectors inventory number on the throat.
