US 1930's White Topped Army Officer Summer Dress Visor Hat

Original era manufacture. A very unusual private purchase US Army officers white topped summer dress visor hat, with the eagle emblem directly embroidered into the body of the hat.White wool top, with an Infantry blue band, flanked by two bands of gold brocade. Gold brocade chinstrap, secured by two gilded brass Army buttons.Black fibre visor which is bound in thin black leather. Thin Moroccan leather sweatband with a white silk interior lining, and a white MC Lilly retailers tag in the lining, size marked 7 1/8 below the red silk bow on the sweatband.The hat presents very well, it is not crushed or broken, everything fits as it should. There is some considerable mothing on the top of the hat, but the good news is that being made of white wool, and lined in white silk,the moth bites are difficult to see. This is certainly one of the most distinctive looking US Army officer hats we have had the pleasure in offering toour customers. It is too bad about the mothing, but it is difficult to see, andit beingthere keeps the price down too for such an unusual hat.
