Japanese Late Edo Period Jingasa Helmet

Original era manufacture. Black lacquered body with an ornate floral decoration at front in darkened matt gold finish. Simple padded cloth liner and ear protectors, held in place by formed bamboo reeds.There is some nicking to the edge finish, but it has been neatly painted over to blend well.
