Description
You are bidding on a VERY NICE used example of a WW1 German / Prussian Bundesheer Octo Communication Center Clock! This type of clock was usually installed in Radio Rooms and Command Centers. Published in Konrad Knirim's book titled, 'Military Timepieces'.Made of brass, this Radio Room / Communication Center Clock is in GOOD condition. Though the crystal shows some light scratches, there is NO major damage or corrosion! Manufactured by Octo, the movement is complete, but not currently functional. It appears the dial itself was changed out at one time, and some of the hands are missing. The bottom of the brass mount indicates, 'HEERESEIGENTUM' (Property of the Army). This EXACT clock is featured on page 94 of Konrad Knirim's book titled, 'Military Timepieces'. As the dial is different in the book, I suspect the dial was originally missing, and one was added for photographic purposes only. Needs some restoration and preservation, and sold for parts only. A VERY RARE piece of history, it would make for a VERY NICE addition to any collection, or display!
