Description

You are bidding on a BEAUTIFUL set of WW2 Imperial Japanese Army Leather Gloves, as used by various Paratroopers, Fighter Pilots, and Bomber Crew! The Japanese Army Pilot and Paratrooper Gloves extended above the wearer's wrist and protected the hand from exposure to the elements. They wereissued for both summer and winter use. The main difference with the winter glove was the addition of animal fur for extra warmth. Furs used were rabbit, goat, sheep, and horse. The finger section of the glove was made of high quality deer hide suede, which was tanned into three different colors: light beige, medium brown, and dark brown. Deer hide was used largely because it was an abundant resource in Japan. It could also be manufactured thinner and thus offer greater elasticity (enabling the pilot's fingers to be flexible enough to perform small intricate tasks such as writing or pressing a switch).Made of deer hide, these gloves are in SUPERB UN-ISSUED condition! All the original coloring remains, and there are NO tears or damage! Some slight marks and wear from storage, but nothing that detract. As they were stored in perfect condition, the leather is still VERY SOFT and STRONG! Features prominent Japanese Kanji maker marks and acceptance stamps on the inside of each. Dated 1944, these are a VERY small size. 100% matching, they would make a PERFECT for any collection or display!
