WW2 Imperial Japanese Navy – ' BIG EYE ' 15×80 SHIPBOARD MONOCULAR – RARE!

You are bidding on a SUPERB example of a WW2 Imperial Japanese Navy 15 x 80 Battleship Monocular!This 'Big Eye' style was specifically used on late-war battleships, destroyers, cruisers and other surface vessels!These were brought back by a US veteran, however I do not have any further history.Made of a solid brass, aluminum, and steel by, this monocular is in AMAZING used condition!Manufactured later in the war, they retain 95% of the original Navy grey paint! The optics are still PERFECT, and the focus adjustment functions perfectly! No major spotting or dust particles! This appears to have been a standard 15×80 binocular that has been cut downinto a monocular (probably post-war). Some paint chips and marks as you can see in the photos, as well as some scratches.All manufacture info would have been on the right side ocular plate…but as this monocular was made from a left side, there are no markings present. If not used as a stand-alone monocular, this could VERY EASILY be used for parts, if one is in the process of repairing one! Would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display!
