WW2 German Luftwaffe FK5 Führerkompass – MAGNETIC COMPASS – Me109 E / F – RARE!

You are bidding on a VERY NICE example of a 100% ORIGINAL WW2 German Luftwaffe FK5 Führerkompass (Main Compass), Fl. 23211, as used in the early Me109 E & F fighter aircraft, and Ju87 Dive Bomber!This instrument indicated the current direction of the aircraft and pointed to magnetic north.It was located on the main instrument panel.Made of brass and aluminum, this instrument is in used condition! There are some light scratches and marks due to the age, but nothing that takes away from the overall appearance.Retains most of the original fluid, with an air bubble at the top. Rear cover is slightly dented, but that is normal, due it the age. All data information is on the main data plate, indicating a production date of May 6, 1937, and Fl. 23211. The info is also still retained on the bezel and easily readable.Dial still points magnetic north! Interesting as the upper tube still caries the small iron pins (not shown) to correctly compensate for the diction. A VERY RARE early compass,I have indicated it's location in the last photo.Would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
