A scarce original circa 1940's period 'Royal National Lifeboat Institution Honorary Secretary badge'; large gilt metal blue enamel title circlet surmounted by a King's crown, the voided centre depicting an embossed lifeboat with full crew with blue enamel 'Honorary Secretary' scroll below; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'W.O.Lewis (Badges) Ltd B'Ham'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no defects to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright, an excellent example.Height approx 41mm.
