WW1 Victory medalTo- 23856.PTE.S.J.WEBBER.L.POOL.RSamuel John Webber was both born & enlisted in Bootle, Liverpool. He was killed in action in France & Flanders 20-10-1916 serving with the 18th service battalion of the Liverpool regiment / Liverpool pals. Prior to the outbreak of WW1 he served as a waiter onboard the RMS Carpathia & was serving onboard when the ship went to the aid of the victims of the Titanic in April 1912. He has an entry the the encyclopedia Titanica & would also be entitled to the Titanicv Carpathia medal in bronze as issued to men who participated in the rescue.
