WW1 British War MedalTo- 12772.PTE.F.STEELE.SCOTS.GUARDSFrank Steele first landed in France 12-7-1915 & was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 27-9-1915 serving with the 1st battalion. He was born in Canonbie & enlisted in Hexham. Whilst living Plashetts, County Durham. He was 21 years of age at the time of his death & is commemorated on the Loos memorial. The CWGC state that he was the late son of William & Bridget Steele of Woods row, Plashetts, Northumberland.NEF & Complete with MIC details. Along with details from both SDGW & the CWGC
