WW1 British War MedalTo- 12772.PTE.F.STEELE.SCOTS.GUARDSFrank Steele first landed in France 12-7-1915 & was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 27-9-1915 serving with the 1st battalion. He was born in Canonbie & enlisted in Hexham. Whilst living Plashetts, County Durham. He was 21 years of age at the time of his death & is commemorated on the Loos memorial.
