Mint cased WW1 Military Cross, WW1 Pair & Armata Altipiani medalTo- 2-LIEUT.P.G.HANDFORDPercival George Handford was commissioned in to the Wiltshire regiment but was attached to the 1/4th Royal Berkshire regiment for services in Italy. He was wounded in Italy & was also awarded the MC for services in Italy in the London gazette 2-12-1918 with the following citation.For conspicuous gallantry & devotion to duty during a raid. Having successfully attacked with his platoon the Machine Gun emplacements which were his objective & bombed the gunners, he dealt with two rows of dugouts, where he obtained about 30 prisoners & left many dead. Throughout he showed great dash & initiative & set a very fine example to his command.He later served in Ireland during the post war troubles as temporary cadet 79852 with ADRIC & as a section leader with I Company.The MC is unnamed as issued & mint cased & the pair is GVF or better. The Italian award is unnamed as issued to all British officers who served in the Italian campaign. Complete with basic research details including MIC, service papers & ADRIC details
