Heer officer's overseas cap, ex Panzer, privately made early quality cap constructed from high quality filed grey colored doeskin type wool, with lining of ribbed grey colored rayon and partial leather sweatband, cap never had ventilation grommets, the metallic silver piping is factory installed, the pre war flat silver on light grey/tan field national emblem is hand sewn in an atypical fashion with grey colored cotton thread, the multi piece bullion rosette is applied with the same thread, remains of the rosa colored soutache are still visible, cap is large sized, estimate 59 or 60, there are a couple of areas on insect grazing to the wool, USD $750
