Original WW2 Dutch LVA Photo - Grouping Luchtvaartafdeeling 4e Jachtvlieg Afdeling Bergen (1939 - 1940)Incredible grouping of the LVA stationed at the Dutch airfield Bergen in Noord-Holland near Alkmaar. The airfield Bergen was built in 1937 to defend the Netherlands from a possible invasion. During the mobilisation of the Netherlands in 1939, the airfield was put to use; Dutch soldiers from the Luchtvaartafdeeling (Air Force) were stationed in the complexes. Bergen had a total of 10 Fokker CX (C10) and 13 Fokker G1 airplanes.In this grouping, there are several group pictures; two pictures are doubles. One of these is a group picture in front of a villa, this is Villa Westerwolde (Eeuwigelaan Bergen) (13 x 10 cm). The other picture that is double in the set has two sizes, 2x 15 x 10 cm and one large picture (30 x 38 cm). This large picture used to be inside the 3rd Hangar at the airfield. This picture also shows all the pilots, this time in front of one of the hangars; this picture is dated 1939. One group picture was made of the ''Luchtwachtpost Alkmaar''.The two portrait pictures are from the soldier Daniël van der Munnik (Dordrecht, 1919 - Bergen, 1940). He was killed during the bombing of the airfield. The other portrait picture is from the 2nd Lieutenant-vlieger P. Kool.The set also consists of several aerial pictures of the airfield, a series of 6 made by Kapitein Kuenen on the 21st of December 1939 (18 x 13 cm each), and two (30 x 21 cm + 30 x 24 cm) others that show the G1 airplanes on the concrete outside of the hangars.On the 10th of May, the Germans invaded the Netherlands, Belgium, and France. Airfield Bergen was a target to demobilise a part of the airspace in Noord-Holland. A Luftwaffe bomber group from Delmenhorst. carried out the attack. Early in the morning, they bombed the airfield. All buildings were heavily damaged, as were most planes. The Fokker G-1 airplanes that were set outside were all bombed and destroyed.This collection came out of the possession of the writer of the book Vliegveld Bergen NH 1938-1945, J. H. Schuurman. Most pictures in this set are also published in his book. A copy of the book will be added to the collection when purchased. A picture or two has small black additions on them to indicate something; this was most probably added by Schuurman for his book and could be carefully removed.The set consists of 27 pictures and one document to enter the military airfield of Bergen. A small collection of reproduction pictures will be added for the buyer, along with an edition of the book by J. H. Hij sneuvelde tijdens het bombardement op het vliegveld. De andere portretfoto is van 2e luitenant-vlieger P. Kool.De set bestaat ook uit verschillende luchtfoto's van het vliegveld: een serie van 6 gemaakt door Kapitein Kuenen op 21 december 1939 (elk 18 x 13 cm) en twee andere (30 x 21 cm + 30 x 24 cm) waarop de G1-vliegtuigen op het beton buiten de hangars te zien zijn.Deze collectie is afkomstig uit het bezit van de schrijver van het boek Vliegveld Bergen NH 1938-1945, J. H. Schuurman. De meeste afbeeldingen in deze groep zijn ook in zijn boek gepubliceerd. Een exemplaar van het boek wordt bij aankoop aan de collectie toegevoegd. Op een of twee afbeeldingen zijn kleine toevoegingen aan het beeld aangebracht om iets aan te geven; dit is hoogstwaarschijnlijk door Schuurman voor zijn boek toegevoegd en kan mogelijk voorzichtig worden verwijderd.Op 10 mei vielen de Duitsers Nederland, België en Frankrijk binnen. Vliegveld Bergen was een doelwit om een deel van het Noord-Hollandse luchtruim te demobiliseren. Een Luftwaffe-bommenwerpergroep van Delmenhorst voerde de aanval uit. Vroeg in de ochtend bombardeerden ze het vliegveld. Alle gebouwen raakten zwaar beschadigd, evenals de meeste vliegtuigen. De Fokker G-1 vliegtuigen die buiten stonden opgesteld, werden allemaal gebombardeerd en vernietigd.De set bestaat uit 27 afbeeldingen en één document om het militaire vliegveld Bergen te betreden. Een kleine verzameling reproductiefoto's wordt voor de koper toegevoegd, samen met een uitgave van het boek door J. H. Schuurman.
