This is an attractive - clearly used and regrettably single but nevertheless quite scarcely encountered! - WH (Heeres) neatly 'cyphered', officers-pattern shoulderboard as piped in the bright-orange- (ie. orangeroter-) coloured branchcolour as was as intended for - and just moderately used by! - a: 'Hauptmann u. Feldingenieur des Heeres' (or: captain and field-engineer) and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit clearly- ie. moderately used and/or worn- ie. carefully tunic-removed-), condition. The shoulderboard which is approximately 11 cms. sized in length and that is piped in the neat bright-orange- (ie. 'orangeroter'-) coloured branchcolour as to be expected shows a neat (larger-sized and/or typical zinc ie. 'Feinzink'-based) so-called: 'Zahnrad'-cypher (ie. cogwheel 'Ziffer') and a pair of (golden-toned, 'Buntmetall'-based pips) period-attached denoting that the strap was intended for an officer who held the rank of a: 'Hauptmann' (ie. captain). The attached devices - that were attached BEFORE the board of fully assembled - show some regular age and/or minimal tarnish. The board never had a tongue attached (and was clearly used as a board of the 'sew-in'-pattern): it does show some moderate age, wear and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece was never before in collectors'-hands and was recently found as such. Simply an attractive 'Heeres' officers'-type shoulderstrap that belonged to a: 'Hauptmann u. Feldingenieur des Heeres': too bad that it is only a single specimen!
