WWII German Summer Tunic for Infantry Officer-This is produced in a heavy white cotton that is in very good condition. Of course, there is some discoloration but that is to be expected and it is minor for sure. This handsome tunic has an eight button closure and all buttons are silver finished pebbled metal. There are four pleated pockets with scalloped flaps. There are French cuffs and a lay down collar. There are 'T' type shoulder boards with bright silver flat wire on the face over white badge cloth. Ciphers form the number 109 on each board. These are for the rank of leutnant or 2ndlieutenant. There is a metal, pinback breast eagle through original loops. The eagle is missing most of its gilt finish. There is an adjutants aiguillette attached to a button under the right shoulder board as well as on the second closure button. This is properly attached and in great condition. There is also a ribbon for the Iron Cross 2ndClass and a set of badge loops on the left breast pocket. You can see that a badge was in place for an extended period of time. The interior is unlined. There is a strap with a metal hook and slot for an edged weapon. The tunic is a size medium. This is scarce and desirable!
