Description
WH (Heer) Infantry Officer's Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is a nice privately purchased Officer's example, the celluloid manufacturer's sweat-diamond ('Raute') is unfortunately missing. The cap is not visible maker marked. The cap is approximately a size '59'. The Visor cap is piped in the white 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour) for Infantry personnel. The leather sweatband is in good used but partly damaged condition, see photos. The cap is complete with its original hand-embroidered cap-eagle and cocarde with inbetween a Traditional 'Braunschweig' Skull as worn by members of the 'Infanterie-Regiment 17'. The cap is having a correct officer's type chinstrap. The cap is showing normal traces of usage and some minor (moth)damage, see photos. The cap is having a great shape. Nice original Infantry Officer's Visor Cap from an interesting Regiment in good condition!
