German Eastern Peoples Award 2nd Class '100'

Eastern Peoples Award 2nd Class in silver with swords (Verdienstauszeichnung für Angehörige der Ostvölker, 2. Klasse in Silber). This series of awards was instituted on 14 July 1942 to recognize the contribution of volunteers from the Eastern European countries to Germany's war effort. The zinc type medal just shows some minor wear and great detail overall, it still retains almost all of its original silver finish. The medal is complete with its original confectioned ribbon as found.however, one side of the stitching holding on the pin is looseThe medal is nicely maker marked with number '100' indicating production by the company of 'Wächtler & Lange' from Mittweida.Nice example in good condition!
