GVR 1st type WW1 Military Medal & WW1 PairTo- 38500.L-CPL/PTE.H.V.STEEL.9/YORK.RHarold Victor Steel was born in Albough & enlisted in Bedale. Whilst living in Snaipe. He was awarded the MM for services in France in the London gazette 17-12-1917 & sadly went on to be killed in action in Italy 7-9-1918. He was 21 years of age at the time of his death & is buried in the Magnaboschi British cemetery, Italy & is recorded by the CWGC as the late son of William & Sarah Anne Steel of Snaipe, Bedale, Yorks.NEF & Complete with MIC details, London gazette details, CWGC & SDGC details.
