Waffen-SS EM/NCO's Overseas Cap 'Wilhelm Schreiber 1942'

Waffen-SS M40 EM/NCO's Overseas Cap (Schiffchen für Unteroffiziere und Mannschaften). The M40 overseas cap was similar in cut to the Luftwaffe overseas cap and was worn for the duration of the war. Fieldgrey woolen construction SS overseas cap. The cap is complete with an original period hand-applied BeVo-woven cap-eagle and skull. The cap has a grey coloured cotton/rayon lining, the cap is nicely maker marked by the 'Bayerische Mützenfabrik Wilhelm Schreiber' and is dated 1942. The cap is size '59' marked. The cap is in good used condition with some normal traces of usage, there is unfortunately some moth damage to one side of the cap, see photos. Original SS overseas caps like these are almost impossible to find nowadays, rare original example!
