US WWI, Russian M1891 Nagant Rifle Bayonet, Remington Mfg

Original era manufacture. Made under contract to the Czar in 1915-1917 and marked with an R in a circle for Remington. Machined blue finished steel bayonet with a movable locking ring, cruciform blade, with a square tip.Many of the Remington contract (and Westinghouse contract) rifles and bayonets remained in the US after the Russian Revolution of 1917. Unable to fulfill the monetary obligation, the remaining stocks of 1891 rifles and bayonets were distributed for training purposes to the US Military.
