Description
Original WWII women's Marine Corps (USMCWR) summer service hat. Size 22 Gold screwback EGA emblem. Knox brand. Named to Eleanor M Guokas. There is some wear and staining. There is an extra string sewn in to hold the white trim in place. The hat needs reshaped a bit. Staining on the sweatband and lining.Eleanor M Guokas (Conlon) was born on August 8 1916 in Wisconsin. She served as an administrative and technical clerk in Washington DC. While in the Marines, she met and married Navy sailor Joseph Conlon. I found her info and a photo of her wearing this hathere.
