Description

Original era manufacture. An imposing spearhead used by the Maasai tribes of Kenya to hunt Lion.Measuring 42 inches overall, with a 38 inch long blade.The handmade blade has a central ridge on each side, which flares at the base. Just below the base of the blade is a copper wire decoration wrapped at the narrow point of the socket.Old museum number painted in white paint on the base of the blade. The steel surface shows scattered areas of staining from age and light corrosion. The wooden spear shaft was cut off, with portions of the wood remaining inside the socket.
