US WWI Reserve Ration, Hard Bread, Unopened Tin, U.S.Q.M.C.

Original period manufacture. A true WWI rarity are unopened tins of US Army Hard Bread. The tinned steel elongated box measures roughly 8x2x2 inches, with the original contents inside. Marked on one end HARDBREAD 8 OZ. U.S.Q.M.C., and on the other CUT THIS END OUT. Food rations of any type are always difficult to find, the meat ration which formed the other half of the WWI Reserve Ration are also quite scarce, and when found, fetch close to $1000.
