US 1899 Pattern Army Campaign Hat, Screen Ventilators & Corrugated Sweatband Insert

Original period manufacture. Scarce example of a campaign hat introduced during the era of Cuban Occupation and the Philippine Insurrection. Tan wool felt hat with a triple stitch edging to the brim edge. Brass screen ventilators, one on each side of the crown, wide brown leather sweatband with a corrugated spacer band between the body of the hat and the sweatband. The brown silk hat ribbon is intact, scattered mothing as shown.
