General Post Office GPO postmans cap badge pre 1953

A rare original circa pre 1953 period 'General Post Office postman's cap badge'; large die-stamped blackened brass 'King George VI 'crowned oval, incorporating the initials 'GPO' within laurel wreath, the voided central band with an applied chromium plated postmans identification numbers '72' and overlay to Crown. Good condition, service wear, complete with two brass bolt fittings to reverse.Height approx 67mm.
