Description
You are bidding on a SUPERB example of a WW2 US Army and Royal Canadian Air Force Throttle Assembly, as ONLY used the Cessna AT-17 Bobcat Training Aircraft, and its variants! This Throttle Assembly was mounted on the central section of the main instrument panel. It allowed the pilot control all settings of the Throttle, Prop Pitch, Carburator, and Mixture. The Cessna AT-17 Bobcat or Cessna Crane is a twin-engine advanced trainer aircraft designed and made in the United States, and used during World War II to bridge the gap between single-engine trainers and larger multi-engine combat aircraft. The commercial version was the Model T-50, from which the military versions were developed. Additional versions and names include the AT-8 trainer, UC-78 transport and bomber, and the Crane Mk.I in Canadian service.Only a handful of these aircraft survive, and most are on display in Canadian museums.Made of aluminum, steel this piece was manufactured between 1939 and 1944. Though there is some slight marks and wear due to the age, it is still in EXCELLENT used condition! There is no damage, and all levers appears to function correctly. There is one tiny spring missing, on one of the locking levers, but it does not detract. I have shown its location in the last image. Fully functional, it would make a EXCELLENT addition to any collection, display, or restoration project!
