Original Waffen SS Officer's M43 Cap Marked 722 Size 55This is a fine later-war issue Waffen SS officer's M43 field cap featuring factory-applied stacked insignia. The woven SS cap eagle and skull are zig-zag machine-sewn to the front. The body is constructed of gabardine fabric with a rough-textured reverse, and displays the desirable high peak profile with built-in silver metallic crown piping. A single tan plastic button fastens the front.The interior is lined in grey rayon and bears a size '55' stamp within a rectangular box, along with additional postwar ink stamps. The SS contractor number '722' is also stamped on the lining. The cap shows light exterior wear. The liner exhibits minimal aging and wear and no sweat staining. Overall, this remains one of the more appealing examples of this sought-after cap.
