A scarce original Second World War period 'Pollards Aircraft War Service lapel badge'; chromium plated example in the shape of a polygon, the centre panels showing a carpenter-joiner and blast furnace worker in relief, around the edge the titles 'H&C Ltd Pollards Haskins M-S Co'. Good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting.Height approx 20mm.'H&C Ltd' 'Hammond & Chapness of Walthamstow' went into liquidation in 1930 and was taken over by 'E Pollard & Co. Ltd' then a shopfitting company, who also merged with 'Samuel Haskins & Bros' in the same year.Pollards Aircraft were based in Ferry Lane, Walthamstow, London, during WWII they were assigned to the production of aircraft parts.
