A good original Second World War period 'R.A.F. Comforts Committee Voluntary Worker home front pin badge'; chromium plated title circlet inlaid with blue enamel, bearing an Royal Air Force eagle to voided centre with scroll below 'Voluntary Worker', the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Ltd Regent St Birmingham'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no stress marks or damage to the enamel.Height approx 24mm.During wartime the 'RAF Comforts Committee Voluntary Workers contributed to the war effort by knitting woollen garments such as socks, jumpers and scarves etc for the Royal Air Force.
