Description
Original German WWII Heer Officer's Artillery Visor Cap Dated 1938 Size 57This is an authentic Heer officer's visor cap constructed of fine fieldgray wool with a dark green band. The cap features the classic high peak profile, with red piping along the crown and flanking either side of the band, denoting service in the Artillery branch. The exterior wool remains in excellent condition, showing little to no evidence of mothing. Both the eagle insignia and the wreath with cockade retain sharp details, and the silver bullion chin cord remains bright and intact. The black lacquered visor is exceptionally well-preserved with only minor signs of age.The interior is equally impressive. The satin lining and celluloid diamond are still firmly in place, with the size stamp '57' clearly visible. The leather sweatband shows minimal wear or discoloration, and the underside bears a crisp maker's mark:'1938 J. Dieterle Mützenfabrik Stuttgart N, Langsstr. 20'.Overall, this visor cap is a nicely preserved example, retaining its original character and displaying only the lightest signs of ageāan outstanding piece for any advanced WWII collection.
