German Pre WWI M1889 Enlisted Cavalry Sword, Ulan Regiment

Original era manufacture. Folding guard enlisted pattern 1889 sword with unit markings on the guard, 5.U.5.56, 5th Ulan Regiment, 5th Eskardron,56th Weapon.Grimy old finish to the surface of the guard with minor dings and dents from age and use, needs a good bath.The black hard rubber grip is intact, no chips or cracks. Chrome finished blade measuring 33 inches in length, with triple engraving, open panel on the obverse with the Ulan's name, Schumachers, III Esk. The blade is decent, not bent, with some light peppering and scratching to the surface and light bumping to the cutting edge. Dent free steel scabbard with about 50% of it's original black paint finish remaining, mix ofdark steel surface corrosion with some light pitting.
