WW2 Japanese Army Waterbottle / Canteen.

Description

A nice used example thats complete with its cradle. The aluminium bottle has one knock to the side on the bottom and some loss of its brown finish. To the bottom can be found stamped manufacture details and a couple of kanji letters that i think relate to the owner. The strap is complete and strong even with it being well used. A hand sewn name tag has mostly gone to the back of the cradle, all metal buckles having taken on some rust. This is a later cradle manufactured with two top buckles to retain the stopper to the canteen. In my opinion it does appear that the stopper strap is part of a helmet strap. This example will display well with any Japanese combat related collection.
