US WWI Doughboy Helmet, British Mfg, 27th Division Painted Insignia

Original era manufacture. British made steel helmet with a handpainted 27th Division emblem on its front. The helmet is complete with liner and chinstrap, showing fabric loss on the felt lining due to our friends the moths. British War Office markings on the underside of the oilcloth liner material. Some denting from service use on the crown.
