Description
Original WWII German Internal Field Blouse Support Strap (Unit Marked)-This is an original Wehrmacht internal shoulder strap used inside the German field blouse (Feldbluse), including M36 and M40 blouses. These straps were issued in pairs, but we only have one. They went through the slots in the interior lining of the field blouse's to attach to the internal waist belt hooks, which held the soldier's leather combat belt in place.Material: Strong field-grey woven cotton webbing, non-elastic.Design: Each end features multiple rows of reinforced stitched holes to accommodate the metal belt hooks, allowing for height and waistline adjustment.Markings: Clearly stamped '3./J.R.13 114', indicating 3rd Company, Infantry Regiment 13, with 'III' likely indicating3rd Battalion, a rare and desirable unit mark.Condition: Honest service wear, with all eyelets present; some fraying and light soiling; clear, legible unit marking.Historical Note:This internal belt hook support system helped keep the leather waist belt aligned and properly tensioned under the tunic, preventing gear sag and preserving the uniform's appearance. These straps were standard in early- and mid-war tunics but became less common in simplified later-war production. Surplus or repurposed internal straps like this were often cut down and utilized in the manufacture or repair of other field gear such as rucksacks, A-frames, breadbags, and other late-war equipment, making complete, intact examples like this increasingly scarce.
