Original era manufacture. A very nice grouping once the property of a woman who served her country as an Air Raid Warden in the UK during WWII.The lot includes her named Defense Medal with original ribbon, her A.R.P. (Air Raid Protection) marked whistle, a boxed A.R.P. lapel badge and a letter of congratulations from the Chief Warden of Walsall dated 2nd May 1945, thanking the volunteers for their service during the war.Doing a quick online search revealed that Walsall and the immediate surrounding area, suffered the effects of at least six attacks by the Luftwaffe, resulting in the deaths of more than 20 people.Excellent research potential.
