WW2 German Wehrmacht – M31 MEDICAL CANTEEN & STRAPS – MATCHING – VERY NICE!

You are bidding on a SUPERB used example of a WW2 German Wehrmacht Gebirgsjager / Medical M31 Canteen & Straps!The M31 canteen was based on the M1893 and M1907 canteen which were used throughout WW1.These were originally manufactured in aluminum, but as aluminum was required for use in other equipment (aircraft, for example), they were then re-designed to be manufactured in steel.Made of aluminum with a felt covering, this early war aluminum canteen is in EXCELLENT condition for its age. There is no major corrosion or damage, and all maker marks are present! The felt covering; straps; canteen; and lid are all marked with the manufacture and date, indicating, 'DMN 41'. The canteen cup is the only piece that is non-matching (common), with a manufacture and date, indicating, 'SSL 42'. A PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
