This was presented to Kanonier Karl Grill, who served with 15./FlaK-Regt. 38!Flak-Regt. 38 was formed on August 1, 1938, in Linz, Austria, as Flak-Abteilung Linz. It participated in theinvasion of Poland with the 14th Army; the invasion of France as part of the I. Flak Corps; was sent to the Eastern Front in 1942, fighting in Southern Russia and the Caucasus; and eventually participated inthe German withdrawal through Romania and Hungary in 1944.Made of heavy paper, and mounted in a post-war frame, this presentation service certificate is one of a kind item! Presented to Kanonier Karl Grill, it features various military scenes depicting, flags, soldiers, aircraft, and FlaK cannons. Due to the age, there are some marks, scratches, and wear to the frame, but nothing that detracts. Total size including frame is approx. 14.5″ x 18″.
