WW1 Allied British Trench Watch.

Description

A very nice pocket type watch with side loops for use as a wrist watch. The glass has some surface wear as expected from a well used example, inner dial is clean with all details. The body has no dents with loss of finish to the back edges and a very nice amount of green verdigris from sweat that corresponds to the leather strap. I have not cleaned and am leaving as is. Inside can be found an American patent mechanical workings with the last date being 1914. It might well be a Waltham manufactured watch but no details found anywhere on the watch. Im sorry to say that its not in working condition as its appears to have been overwound. This watch and item 62755 was recently purchased by me from a local family who was clearing a relatives house, no other details where given. In my opinion your looking at an actual watch used by a veteran during the Great War.
