Mint cased Civil O.B.E & WW1 Mercantile Marine pairTo- R.MALLETT / MALLITRaymond Mallet was a ships master & was awarded the Civil O.B.E in the London gazette 1-1-1942 for his services onboard the SS.Martand. He had previously been awarded the Lloyds medal for meritorious service 23-3-1918 for services at Shadwell. He is also entitled to the following WW2 medals 1939-45 Star, Atlantic Star, Africa Star & 1939-45 War medal. He never applied for the issue of these but did apply for the issue of the medal ribbons. He was obviously not that bothered about medals & only applied for the issue of his Mercantile Marine pair in 1942 after the award of his O.B.E.Complete with two silver & enamel medallions as issued by Thos & Jno Brocklebank to commemorate the sinking of the SS.Manipur 17-7-1940 & the SS.Manaar 18-4-1943. Along with copy medal roll & gazette details.
