Original German WWII Luftwaffe Visor Cap Wreath, Wings & Cockade (Ground Dug)-This is an original Luftwaffe visor cap insignia consisting of the oak leaf wreath, winged design, and central national cockade. It is constructed of aluminum, a lightweight material commonly used in early to mid-war cap insignia before the shift to zinc.This example was ground dug and shows soiling and staining from long-term burial. Traces of the original finish remain, and the red of the central cockade is still visible. Despite ground recovery, much of the detail to the oak leaves, wings, and cockade remains discernible. The reverse retains both prongs.A true Luftwaffe relic, representing an early-war style aluminum visor cap insignia, and a strong addition to any ground-dug collection or insignia display.
