WW1 Officers Compass in Case.

Sold
£75.00

Description

A nice original WW1 issue officer's compass in blacken and polished brass. Made by J H Steward of London, it is in good working order, however the oil inside has discoloured so it is difficult to see the pointer. The brass bezel which holds the glass unscrews to replace the oil, if desired. Patent dates on the base, the last being February 1916, it comes in its original leather case which is stamped H. S. O. T. C. 12. I think this is Harrow School Officer Training Corps. The leather is a little dry but also in very good order. The compass measures roughly 2 inches in diameter.
