A rare ORIGINAL wartime period 'Women's Land Army Timber Corps beret badge', the reverse impressed with maker's details 'A Stanley & Sons Walsall 1-A'. Very good condition, no fading, warping or distortion, complete with both brass blade fittings, an excellent example.Height approx 51mm.The Women's Land Army Timber Corps was formed in 1942 to solve the increased demand for timber, they worked in the forests felling trees and also in the sawmills and wore identical uniform to the WLA except the felt hat was replaced by a green beret and Timber Corps plastic badge. They were disbanded in 1946.
