This is an early war, superb quality SS Officer's crusher cap, featuring high quality wool body, fine lindesamt velvet band, gently age-crazed leather bill, and untouched cupal Overhoff skull and eagle. The interior is the light grey cotton / satin blend, with a leatherette band and near fully intact sweat-shield. The plesier and tacking are finely rendered, reflecting the quality of this cap maker (looking like a Clemens Wagner or similar).
