Description

This is a Dutch pre-1940 ceremonial uniform of a 1st Lieutenant of Artillery in the Royal Netherlands Army.The uniform is dated 1931 and was produced by the renowned Dutch tailoring houses Maison Jordi & Co of Amersfoort and H. v. Blomjous of The Hague.The tunic is made of deep black wool with red piping and fitted with gilt buttons bearing the artillery emblem of crossed cannons.The cuffs are elegantly finished with pointed red piping, and the black satin lining with red stitching adds extra distinction.Inside the lining is the original officer's name label.The breeches are executed in black with red piping and close by lacing at the lower leg, designed to be worn with boots and spurs.The kepie is made of black felt with red piping, featuring the officer's badge, a leather chin strap, and the impressive black plume.The sabretache with cross belt is made of black leather with brass fittings and displays a richly decorated artillery emblem with crown and crossed cannons.The orange officer's sash with long tassels is also included in the ensemble and was worn during ceremonial occasions.Also attached are the original brass spurs with leather straps.The rank of 1st Lieutenant is indicated by the gilt stars on the black velvet collar and the braided shoulder boards.A unique and rare piece for any Dutch Army or mobilization uniform collection!Article number: 16758
