A very nice example of the second pattern example, with aluminum fittings. The brightly polished blade is in very nice condition. The blade is well-marked, with the manufacturer marking of SPF Solingen. The aluminum fittings are nice and clean. The emblems on both the crossguard and pommel retain a good amount of the original gold finish, and the leather wrap on the grip is completely intact, with a tight grip wire. The scabbard leather is also in very nice condition with blue maroccan leather. This ecxample retains its complete original hanger in blue leather with an aluminum fitting. One side of the leather retaining strap has worn through and pictured below.Wear of the Luftwaffe Officers sword was typically limited to dress occasions, and was generally reserved for officers and Senior NCOs.Sold as a historical artifact to genuine collectors, museums, or for educational purposes only.
