If you like a 'one-looker' chickenwire helmet โ here is your chance! Standard issue M42 army helmet that started as a single decal example. Overpainted in thick smooth grey field paint and then added a half basket wire on top. Wire shows perfect interaction with the helmet, made out of galvanised iron as it should be. Top still shows traces of mud and wear. Original installed liner in good condition. Leather feels stiff and dry. Partial draw string present and chin strap is complete but buckle part is gone. The soldier used the pin of the buckle part to adjust the size of strap without needing the buckle โ a smart field invention! Shell markings ET62 โ 1575. Initals of the owner painted in the rear skirt. A very nice 'been-there' unquestionable original wire camouflage helmet!
