Genuine standard issue enlisted visor for a member of the German 'Infanterie' having white branch piping. The soldier at that time, decided to wear this cap in the field as a 'Alter-Art' crusher cap, by removing the aluminum insignia on the front and replacing them with genuine cloth examples. The liner shows heavy wear, with the leather sweat band partially loose and damaged. Void of manufacturer markings. Size marked 59 (Large) en perfect for a mannequin! I believe the cloth insignia are period hand applied to the hat – a very nice crusher-look visor cap!
