WH (Heer) Double Decal M17 Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M17), reissued in the Wehrmacht. The Austrian M16/M17 helmet was almost identical to the German version with the positioning of the chinstrap liner rivets being the most readily identifiable difference. The steel construction M17 helmet was refurbished for usage in the Wehrmacht (Heer) by applying an Army decal. The steel construction helmet retains most of its original typical reissue style field-grey paint, the paint is showing some scratches and normal traces of usage and slight surface rust. The decal is in good condition with some minor damage and scratches caused by usage, the decal is present for about 75%. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is an original early M31 liner having a single aluminum liner ring. The liner is approximately a size '57', the original liner cord is present. The helmet is complete with its original early damaged chinstrap, see photos. The helmet is in overall good used and untouched condition as found. Nice original reissued M17 helmet in good condition!
