Luftwaffe Flight/FJ EM/NCO's Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is privately purchased visor cap, the sweatdiamond is missing and the cap is not visible maker marked. This cap probably is a foreign Dutch or Flemish made example, made from different wool and lining material then typically seen with EM/NCO's caps. The cap is having the yellow 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour) for paratrooper (Fallschirmjäger) and/or Flight personnel (Fliegendes Personal). The leather sweatband has unfortunately been post-war replaced. The cap is complete with an original late war zinc type cap-eagle with side prongs and a Flemish made cap cocarde, the cocarde is having one broken prong but is attached firmly to the cap. The simulated leather chinstrap is in good condition. The cap shows normal traces of usage and is having a nice shape. Nice original Luftwaffe visor cap in good used condition!
