Incredible M40 steel helmet with very desirable camo pattern. Thisparticular patternwith brown/red dots on tan color surrounded by green color is typical for helmets found in The Netherlands in 1944-45. The camouflage paint is applied around the army decal, that still shows nice details. The liner remains in very good condition and is complete with draw string and chin strap. The strap is maker marked and dated 1941. Maker marked shell by EF64, lot number 5011. This helmet could either be issued to the army or Waffen-SS because Frederik (FJM44) was so kind to share a picture from his private collection with these helmets worn by Dutch Waffen-SS volunteers. The picture was taken in The Netherlands during the war.
